Dental veneers are thin, porcelain or resin shells that are bonded to the front of your teeth to enhance the beauty of your smile. Our dentist may recommend dental veneers to correct several types of smile imperfections, including teeth that are:
Most dentists receive training on how to treat patients with dental veneers. At our practice, however, our dentist is also trained to use Lumineers. Lumineers are an ultra-thin version of traditional veneers, typically being about as thick as a contact lens. This means that Lumineers can be applied directly to your natural teeth without the shots, anesthesia, or wearing down of your natural tooth that traditional veneers would require. And even though Lumineers are ultra-thin, they are designed to be ultra-strong, often lasting for more than 20 years.
Receiving Lumineers is typically a 2-appointment process. During the first visit, our dentist will create an exact mold of your teeth as a basis for creating your custom-made veneers. Our dentist will also determine the proper shade of white for your Lumineers. After this visit, the mold and shade choice will be sent to the DenMat Lab, where your custom veneers will be created. And because there is no preparation work that removes part of your natural tooth, you can continue to look and feel great while waiting for your Lumineers to arrive. In your second visit, our dentist will adhere your fitted veneers to the surface of your natural teeth in a simple, quick, and pain-free procedure.
Lumineers is an excellent treatment that can help you achieve the picture-perfect smile you have always wanted, and because they are made to last, you can continue to eat and drink what you love without worrying about them breaking. Plus, should you decide to discontinue this treatment, Lumineers are completely reversible and do not leave any damage behind on your natural teeth.
